| Will my existing Pictures/Files be overwritten? |
|
| Answer: |
No.PICgrabber
will check whether the file
exists on your computer before saving it. If it exists, PICgrabber
will skip that file and
move to the next. PICgrabber
gives each saved file a
unique name based on the server so
there will be no duplicate file names.

Do I have to know where to start my search? |
|
| Answer: |
No. The best place to start is with a specific URL. If you don’t have a
start URL then click on the “Web Scan” tab and type in a search
topic. Make sure you have selected the search engines you prefer
under the “Options Tab”. Yahoo.com/Hotbot.com/Google.com seems
to be most efficient and productive at this time. |
| PICgrabber
finds thousands of links but doesn't save any pictures/files. |
|
| Answer: |
Make sure you have
selected the type of files (JPG/GIF/AVI etc.) you are looking for in
the "Options Tab. Without a check mark next to the file type the program does not
look for that kind of file. |
|
PICgrabber
doesn't find any files with “WEB-SCAN”! |
|
| Answer: |
Check
the key words you are using in the “Web Scan”. Use key words
separated by a space or colon. A more specific technique uses
“+” or "AND" between all words to tell the search
engine to include all the words entered. |

PICgrabber
stops after 400-600 pictures, what am i
doing wrong? |
|
| Answer: |
The kind of files that PICgrabber
collects use a lot of system resources. For optimum
performance it is recommended you have 128 RAM and a 500Mhz
processor although lesser systems will still work. |
|
PICgrabber
finds movies, but if I want to save 4 movies
at the same time, PICgrabber
gets stuck and sometimes stops. Why? |
|
| Answer: |
You may need to reduce the
number of tasks because of the high transfer volume of movies. Check
fewer tasks, either 1,2 or 3 depending on your connection speed. See
the list below to judge how many tasks will probably work best:
14k Modem = 1 Task
28k Modem = 1 Task
56 Modem = 2 Tasks
ISDN = 3 Tasks
DSL, Cable, etc, = 3-4 Tasks |

My
Registration Key doesn't work anymore! Do I have to pay for a new
one? |
|
| Answer: |
No. We will supply a new
registration key if you will e-mail your username and new
“personal seed” to KEY MAILER.
To find your “Personal Seed” go to “Menu” at the top of the
program screen and choose “Registration”. The “Personal
Seed” is at the bottom of that screen. The registration key is
based on this “personal seed” and is dependent on your Windows
installation. If you reinstall Windows the “personal seed” may
change requiring a different registration key. |
